Strikes continue for second day
The second day of industrial action by the country?s two main unions against the new bailout agreement will see nearly all public transport means in Athens as well as all trains and ships stay idle on Saturday.
With the Athens buses, trolleys, tram and metro not moving at all on Saturday, the Piraeus-to-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP) will be the only means operating on Saturday, and that is only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Thessaloniki buses will only operate from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mainline or suburban rail trains as well as ships will not move, but flights will not be affected.
Hospitals operate on skeleton staff as doctors are also on strike.
There are two main rallies planned for Saturday, as the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE) and the Civil Servants? Union (ADEDY) will hold their protest demonstration at Syntagma Square and Communist union PAME will meet at Omonia Square.
On Sunday evening they will all rally in front of Parliament while the new bailout agreement is debated and voted on.
