Three arrested in Piraeus on child-trafficking charges
Police said on Saturday that they have arrested three people suspected of being part of a child-trafficking ring.
The three suspects, all Bulgarian nationals, were arrested in Piraeus.
They are aged between 39 and 51.
Police said the arrests were made following a tip-off.
Undercover officers came into contact with the gang, pretending they wanted to buy a baby.
They were quoted a price of 10,000 euros.
A meeting was set up in a Piraeus cafe, where officers met the 39-year-old woman, the child?s mother, as well as the two other suspects.
The three Bulgarians were arrested after accepting 10,000 euros in marked notes.
The baby, which was 10 days old, was taken to the Aglaia Kyriakou children?s hospital.
