Tsochatzopoulos appeals for lower bail, freedom to travel

Former PASOK Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, who was indicted for allegedly receiving bribes for the purchase of submarines built by a German firm, on Monday appealed against the terms of his conditional release, granted following his testimony in regard to discrepancies found during a probe of his finances.

The magistrate investigating the assets declared by Tzochatzopoulos for 2009 ordered earlier this month that he be banned from leaving the country and set his bail at 150,000 euros.

On Monday, the former minister filed an appeal requesting that his bail be reduced and that he be allowed to travel outside Greece.
