Athens teen arrested for ministry hack attack

An 18-year-old boy was arrested in Athens on Monday on suspicion of being behind a cyber attack on the Greek Justice Ministry’s website on February 2 that brought the entire system to a halt.

The teenager is believed to be a member of a local group calling itself the Greek Hacker Scene, who falsely claimed to be affiliated to the international cyber activists Anonymous.

Investigators from the electronics crime squad traced the attack on the Justice Ministry’s website to the unnamed teenager, while they are also compiling cases against another two suspects, aged 16 and 17, in connection with the attack.
