Nearly 700,000 euros missing from air force coffers
In what may turn out to be the biggest embezzlement case documented in the armed forces, a prosecutor was on Tuesday investigating the whereabouts of 683,000 euros that went missing from air force coffers.
The sizable gap in the cash drawer of the 112 Combat Wing was discovered during a regular audit a few days ago, and it is believed that the money had been extracted gradually since September.
