Alleged kidnap of Bulut Yayla under investigation in Athens

Chief Athens first instance court prosecutor Panayiota Fakou ordered a preliminary investigation on Thursday into allegations that a Turkish citizen was abducted in the city center last week and handed over to authorities in Istanbul.

Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias has already been questioned in Parliament about claims that eyewitnesses saw Bulut Yayla, a 24-year-old Kurd and member of the extreme-left Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), being bundled into an unmarked police car.

The investigation is being handled by another prosecutor, Haralambos Lakafosis, who heard two witness statements on Thursday.
