Cyprus priest ‘dealt drugs to pay for wife’s medicines’
A 37-year-old Greek priest was being questioned on Thursday by police in the Cypriot resort of Larnaca after 3 kilograms of cannabis was discovered in his luggage.
The priest, who serves at a parish in Nicosia, reportedly told a Larnaca court that he started dealing drugs to pay for the medical treatment of his wife, who is seriously ill.
The court ordered him to be detained for eight days.
