Hymettus analogue TV signal to be switched off in July

Greece will switch off the analogue TV signal broadcast from towers on Mount Hymettus on July 6, authorities have announced.

This means that residents of Athens will only be able to pick up an analogue signal from the broadcasting station on Mount Parnitha, which will lead to viewers in some parts of the city not being able to pick up several channels clearly.

They will have to buy digital terrestrial decoders MPEG4 or replace their televisions with new models that have such decoders on board.

The switch-off concerns the channels that are available in digital form from Hymettus, i.e. state channels ET1, NET, ET3 and Vouli as well as private channels Skai, Mega, Antenna, Alpha, Star and TV Makedonia.
