Illegal migrants smuggled among fruit

A 31-year-old Greek man and a 34-year-old Iraqi were arrested in Aspropyrgos, west of Athens, on Saturday for human trafficking.

The two men were driving a refrigerated truck carrying kiwi fruit, which also contained a hidden compartment into which 32 undocumented immigrants had been squeezed.

The vehicle was displaying stolen license plates from Germany.

Police are looking for another two suspects that are thought to have been part of an international gang bringing migrants into Greece illegally for some time.
