Residents of Skydra protest planned migrant center
Residents of Skydra, in the northern prefecture of Pella, on Tuesday said they would oppose the government?s plans to create a detention center for undocumented migrants in a disused military facility in the area.
In a petition issued by a local residents? initiative on Tuesday, the locals vowed to fight the project ?with all our might.?
It is the latest reaction in a series of protests by residents of areas where the government is planning to set up temporary detention centers for migrants.
Authorities have said they will set up 30 such facilities.
