A pilot scheme allowing passengers traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki by train to get up to 15 percent off cab rides to their final destination is due to begin Wednesday.
Passengers will have to declare their interest in taking part in the Train-taxi program when they buy their tickets, either online, at stations or at travel agencies. They will also have to name their final destination in Thessaloniki.
Anyone boarding Thessaloniki-bound trains up to Katerini station will be able to apply for a discount on their taxi ride.
The scheme is the result of a cooperation between the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) and the Eurotaxi cab company in Thessaloniki. It will run for four months.
