Kammenos rules out working with PASOK, ND after vote

Panos Kammenos, leader of the newly-formed Independent Greeks party, has once again ruled out the prospect of post-election cooperation with PASOK or New Democracy.

?Over my dead body,? the conservative rebel told Antenna television on Monday, regarding the prospect of working with any of the political parties involved in Greece’s coalition government.

Kammenos, whose populist, anti-bailout party ranked as joint-fourth with 11 percent in a Public Issue poll last week, attacked Evangelos Venizelos and Antonis Samaras for indiscriminately giving in to the demands of the country’s foreign lenders, the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.

?They are partners, they are clerks of the bankers and of Mr [Wolfgang] Shaeuble; at [Poul] Thomsen’s every order they bend the knee,? he said.

Parliamentary elections will take place on May 6.
