Prosecutor ordered to conclude CDS probe
Financial affairs prosecutor Grigoris Peponis has been ordered by a council of appeals court judges to conclude his investigation into allegations that the brother of former Prime Minister George Papandreou, Andrikos, profited from the purchase of credit default swaps insuring against a Greek bankruptcy.
Peponis had asked to be excused from the probe after citing it as one of the cases over which he and fellow prosecutor Spyros Mouzakitis had alleged outside interference a few months ago.
Both prosecutors later dropped their claims.
