Two ministry workers nabbed over graft
Two Development Ministry officials were arrested on Friday on suspicion of soliciting bribes from an entrepreneur who had applied for state subsidies.
The unnamed businessman was seeking subsidies for a hotel complex on Crete, sources said.
Development Minister Anna Diamantopoulou hailed the arrest as another step forward in the fight against graft.
?Either we will break corruption or corruption will break the country,? said Diamantopoulou, who added that officials in charge of the ministry?s private investment department had been given clear instructions to investigate any cases of suspected corruption.
Two Development Ministry officials were arrested earlier this year for allegedly accepting bribes from a hotel owner in the Peloponnese.
