Actor and former MP Costas Karras dies at 76

Costas Karras, a respected theater and cinema actor, died at the age of 76 on Sunday morning.

Karras had been battling prostate cancer since 2006.

He began his career on the stage in 1963, two years after appearing in his first film.

He was the honorary president of the non-governmental organization Child?s Smile since 1994 and was active in charity work.

Between 2000 and 2007, Karras served as a parliamentary deputy for New Democracy.
