Man, 26, plunges to his death in Corinth Canal
A 26-year-old man leaped some 80 meters to his death in the Corinth Canal early on Friday.
Local coast guard officers recovered the man?s body from the river and arranged his transfer to the nearest hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The man was a resident of Arcadia in the Peloponnese.
Figures released this week show that suicides increased by 22 percent between 2009 and 2011.
