Well-known journalist held for large-scale tax evasion

Police on Tuesday detained another three people on charges of large-scale tax evasion.

One is a well-known journalist who was being detained in a central Athens police precinct for an unpaid tax bill of 140,000 euros.

Authorities also detained the 50-year-old owner of a recycling factory in Aghios Stefanos, north of Athens, over a tax bill of 2.3 million euros, and the 60-year-old owner of an OPAP betting shop in the port of Rafina for tax arrears of 128,000 euros.
