Ex minister’s wife appeals to Supreme Court for release
The wife of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, Viki Stamati, has written to the president of the Supreme Court, Rena Asimakopoulou, to ask for her release from custody so she can return home to look after the couple?s 5-year-old son.
Stamati has been in custody in Korydallos Prison since the end of April after being charged with money laundering, which she denies.
She had written to the prosecutor handling her case to ask if she could be placed under house arrest but this request was turned down.
