June elections to cost 20 mln euros less than May polls
The June 17 elections are due to cost 30 percent less than the polls on May 6, it was decided on Tuesday.
This should lead to savings of about 20 million euros as earlier this month parties received 6 million euros in funding and the elections cost 60 million euros.
The decision was taken during a meeting between caretaker Interior Minister Antonis Maniatakis and representatives of New Democracy, SYRIZA, PASOK, Independent Greeks, the Communist Party, Chrysi Avgi, Democratic Left and Ecologist Greens.
It was also decided at the meeting there would be no limit on the number of appearances that parliamentary candidates make on TV before the elections.
