Cable theft delays Proastiakos services
Proastiakos suburban rail passengers traveling from the Athens Airport to western Attica, Corinth and Kiato will need to allow more time for their journey as of Saturday, as the theft of considerable lengths of electrical cables entails delays in train services.
Railway employees discovered late on Friday that a significant number of electrical cables were missing form the section between Aspropyrgos and Magoula in western Attica.
As a result electrical trains will not be able to move in that section, which will be covered by diesel trains instead, until further notice.
Passengers heading from the airport toward the Peloponnese will have to disembark at the Ano Liossia station and board on a diesel train, that is slower, until Magoula, where they will take another electrical train to Kiato.
