Foreign Minister George Papandreou embraces Yasser Arafat during a meeting yesterday in the Palestinian leader’s shattered Ramallah headquarters. On the second day of a visit to the Holy Land, where he represented the European Union presidency, Papandreou also met with Palestinian Prime Minister Abu Mazen and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. He called for Tel Aviv to ‘contribute and help the new Palestinian leadership.’
