Judges rule that Beos could be released on bail

The former president of Olympiakos Volou soccer club, Achilleas Beos, will be released from custody if he posts bail of 300,000 euros, a council of appeals court judges has ruled.

Beos has been in jail for a year after being charged with being a key player in a widespread match-fixing ring involving officials, players and coaches of various clubs.

Beos has yet to stand trial.
