Hospital supplies to resume
A ruling issued on Thursday by the Court of Audit is expected to allow supplies of crucial medicines and other materials to resume to state hospitals.
The release of the supplies had been suspended in cases where the procurement had been deemed illegal due to the violation of European Union competition rules. However the court decided that in urgent cases — with the aim of serving the broader public good and to avoid putting patients’ lives at risk — the expenses can be legitimized after the procurement.
