National Economy Minister Nikos Christodoulakis and Labor Minister Dimitris Reppas are to meet in the next few days with the management of Schiesser Pallas in a bid to dissuade the German-Swiss company from closing down its Palco underwear factory in Athens. The impending layoff of some 500 workers has prompted nearly daily demonstrations, such as this one on Pireos Street near the Labor Ministry yesterday.
