Website owner arrested, released
Website owner and journalist Makis Triantafyllopoulos (photo) and www.zougla.gr chief editor Nikos Georgiadis were arrested on Thursday, following a defamation of character suit filed by investigative journalist Costas Vaxevanis.
In the suit, Vaxevanis stated that the news website had uploaded statements made by former Parliament deputy speaker Giorgos Sourlas in which he claimed that Vaxevanis had ignored a story regarding an illegal fuel ring as well as fuel rigging in the Greek armed forces.
Following unsworn depositions, the two men were released.
