Ombudsman asks state to curb rise in violent attacks

The country?s Ombudsman has expressed intense concern over a sharp increase in racially motivated violent attacks that have chiefly targeted immigrants and members of the Roma community.

Making particular reference to recent attacks by members of extreme-right groups, the watchdog called on authorities ?not to allow organized pockets of criminality to exploit gaps in the state mechanism.?
