Police collar suspected robbers in Halkidiki
Police in northern Greece on Monday were questioning two Albanian youths, both aged 19, in connection with a string of robberies in the region of Halkidiki in which tourists were the key targets.
The pair were stopped by police on a country road near Kryopoigi on Sunday morning and their vehicle was searched, turning up thousands of euros in various currencies, as well as laptops and other valuables.
Police suspect the pair to be behind two burglaries on Saturday night at apartments in the fishing village of Hanioti that were being rented by Serbian tourists, along with other raids in the area.
