Former PASOK MP Eva Kaili has turned down a position on PASOK?s new political secretariat, essentially her active involvement with the party for the time being.
Kaili was elected to Parliament in her home city of Thessaloniki but was not able to take her seat as PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos, who stood as a candidate in two constituencies, decided to represent the northern port city.
In a message on her Facebook page, journalist Kaili said she would continue to maintain a political office in Thessaloniki even though she would not be actively involved with PASOK.
?I thank the PASOK president for the proposal to take part in the political secretariat but my involvement in politics was always based on society and dignity, never with the expectation of the awarding of a party position.?
