Terror suspect questioned in Cyprus

Police in Cyprus have been questioning a 24-year-old thought to have been plotting an attack on Israeli tourists visiting the island, local media reported.

The suspect, reportedly a Swedish national of Lebanese origin, has been in detention since July 7 when he was arrested following foreign intelligence tipoffs, sources said.

According to Sigma television channel, the man had been tracking the movement of Israeli tourists on the island. In a statement released on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the incident ?an attempted terrorist attack by Hezbollah

against an Israeli target in Cyprus.?
