Massive police operation to uproot cannabis farm
A massive police operation was underway on Monday on the outskirts of the Central Greece city of Larissa to uproot a plantation of between 4,000-5,000 cannabis plants.
Dozens of officers were trying to approach the plantation in the mountainous area near Roviliari on the border between the prefectures of Fthiotida and Karditsa after locating it from a tip-off on Sunday.
The plantation is believed to consist of between 4,000-5,000 cannabis plants, that police plan to uproot with the help of municipal agricultural workers and destroy.
Several people were taken into custody for questioning, though no further details were released.
