Body found in Evros believed to be drowned migrant

A body was found in the Evros River in northeastern Greece on Friday.

Authorities said the body was taken to Alexandroupoli Hospital, where doctors said there were no signs of foul play.

It is likely the deceased was an immigrant trying to cross into Greece from Turkey, authorities said.

Dozens of migrants drown each year trying to reach Greece.
