Tanker truck driver dies in highway crash
The Athens-Lamia national highway was closed for several hours on Monday after a tanker carrying 25 tons of highly flammable propane gas crashed, leading to the driver being killed.
It was not clear what caused the accident, which happened near Arkitsa, central Greece.
The truck had been traveling toward Athens.
A firefighter managed to get into the vehicle to turn off the engine, which remained running after the accident. It was at that point that authorities confirmed that the driver, who was not named, had been killed.
