Couple dodge shots fired by mystery gunman on Crete
A Cretan couple yesterday had a lucky escape from an armed ambush on Wednesday after their vehicle was shot at as they were on their way home from a taverna in the village of Festos, Iraklio.
The couple told police that a man had been lying in wait for them along the road that led to their home and that he shot at them numerous times before fleeing the scene.
Eight bullets were found lodged in the vehicle along with 17 more cartridge casings, all of which came from an assault rifle.
