University entrance results announced
The Minsitry of Education announced on Monday the results of this year?s university and college entrance exams. The results are available online at: results.minedu.gov.gr.
According to ministry figures out of the 116,173 candidates who took the entrance exams this year, 80,615 candidates succeeded in securing a place at a higher education facility. The rate of success rose to 69 percent this year compared to 62 percent in 2011.
As a result of the ongoing recession the majority of aspiring students applied to education establishments close to home in order to avoid accomodation and travel costs.
