Suspected Sparta bomber badly hurt
Police on Friday were investigating an explosion of a homemade bomb in the hands of a 38-year-old in Sparta, in the Peloponnese.
The bomb detonated at around 4 a.m., leaving the man with serious burns.
Police believe the man, who had recently lost his job at a cafe, wanted to place the device under a local businessman?s car.
The man was transferred to an Athens hospital for treatment while forensic experts were investigating remnants of the bomb which comprised a gas canister and two batteries.
