Greek defense minister visits Israel
Bilateral ties and continued bloodshed in Syria were the focus of talks between Greek Defense Minister Panos Panayiotopoulos and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem Wednesday.
The two also discussed hydrocarbon exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Greek official said in a statement after the meeting.
Panayiotopoulos, who is in Israel on an official visit, is scheduled to meet with Ehud Barak, his Israeli counterpart, Thursday.
The contacts come in the wake of a rapprochement between the two states.
