Co-op head sentenced
A court in Serres on Wednesday sentenced the head of a local farming cooperative to 18 months in jail for the nonpayment of 100,000 in debts to the state.
The cooperative paid back 25,000 euros of its total debt of 125,000 but had been unable to make good on the rest.
Yiannis Taousianis appealed the conviction and was released.
