Police arrest two for claiming dead wives’ pensions

Police in Iraklio, Crete, on Friday arrested two men suspected of illegally claiming pensions on behalf of their deceased wives.

The two men, aged 52 and 72, had both remarried since losing their wives in 2000 and 2003 respectively.

Police said the two suspects have claimed some 34,400 euros in state money over the years.
