More than 150 migrants detained in Patra raids

Police have detained more than 150 migrants in the western port city of Patra as part of the Xenios Zeus operation aimed at tackling illegal immigration.

Officers said they raided some 65 properties, including abandoned buildings, around the new port.

Authorities said that any migrants found to be lacking residence permits would be transferred to reception centers to await deportation.

The Xenios Zeus operation has been criticized by human rights groups.
