Unions to protest outside labor ministry

Greece’s biggest unions will hold a demonstration outside the labor ministry on Thursday to protest anticipated cuts to salaries and pensions, as well as plans to reduce the country’s minimum wage.

The protest will take place at 12 p.m.

Private sector GSEE and the civil servants’ union, ADEDY also plan to stage a rally in front of the finance ministry on Monday at 6 p.m.

Union representatives have warned of a fresh general strike later in October, more likely on the 17th or 18th of October. No final decision has been reached yet.
