Private clinics call off action, wait for EOPYY to settle debts
Private clinics that work with Greece?s main public healthcare provider, EOPYY, have called off action due to start on Monday that would have forced patients insured with the fund to pay for their treatment upfront.
The clinics had organized the action due to EOPYY?s failure to settle its bills over the past few months. However, following meetings with government officials last week, the clinics say they are willing to accept the coalition?s efforts to settle the outstanding amounts over the weeks to come.
The government has pledged to pay the clinics what they are owed for May in the coming week and to settle the remaining debt by the end of the year provided Greece receive its next EU-IMF bailout tranche.
