Counterfeit goods seized during police raid in Aspropyrgos

Officers of the the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) confiscated more than 8 million cigarettes and over 40,000 counterfeit goods including handbags, purses, luggage and accessories following a raid on a large warehouse in Aspropyrgos, west of Athens, on Monday.

Three people were arrested during the raid, according to authorities who said that the counterfeit goods had cost the Greek state more than 3 million euros in lost customs tariffs and taxes.
