Greek PM meets Turkish foreign minister

Greek Prime Minister met with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday morning.

Davutoglu (photo), who was on an official visit to Athens, was also scheduled to meet with Greek Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos and attend a joint press-conference.

Davutoglu?s Athens agenda included discussing the Cyprus issue and the situation in Syria as well as the influx of undocumented immigrants who enter Greece from its borders with Turkey.

Also on the agenda were preparations for a meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between the two neighboring countries which is scheduled to take place in Ankara next year.

Meanwhile, Greek Defense Minister Panos Panagiotopoulos met with his Turkish counterpart Ismet Yilmaz within the framework of a NATO Defense Ministers meeting in Brussels.

The two ministers decided on the establishment of an Athens-Ankara defense ministry hotline which will ease communication and solve potential misunderstandings between the two countries more swiftly.
