Heating oil goes on sale as station owners end strike

Homeowners were able to order heating oil as of Saturday after gas station owners over the weekend decided to end their strike.

Gas station owners, who had been on strike since last Monday, had refused to sell home heating oil at the new price of 1.35 euros/liter.

The government recently decided to raise the tax on heating oil, bringing it to the same level as that on fuel, in a bid to increase state revenues and clamp down on fuel smuggling.
