Courts disrupted as staff walk out
Court proceedings were disrupted on Tuesday morning, and were due for more upheaval on Wednesday, as court employees in Athens launched a series of work stoppages in protest at additional cuts to their salaries foreseen in an austerity package the government is still negotiating with the troika.
Meanwhile, the associations representing the capital’s court employees called for protest rallies outside the Athens Court of First Instance on Tuesday and outside the Athens Appeals Court on Wednesday.
