Church faces cash woes, says Archbishop Ieronymos

Archbishop Ieronymos (photo) said on Wednesday that the Greek Church has suffered as a result of the government?s austerity measures and is not making as much money as some claim.

He also stated that the Church might be obliged to stop paying clerics? salaries.

Speaking on TV100 channel, the archbishop noted that about 300 of the Church?s employees could face dismissal if it is unable to pay their wages in two months? time.
