SATISFACTION: Government officials last night expressed their satisfaction with yesterday’s moderate comments by the leaders of the Greek Rally party, Field Marshal (Alexandros) Papagos, and of the People’s Party, Mr. Constantine Tsaldaris, regarding the government’s platform. The government officials also drew attention to the fact (…) that the 131 deputies of the EPEK party and the Liberals had given the government a vote of confidence. PEACE MEASURES: Justice Minister Dimitris Papaspyrou has begun preliminary work on drafting the peace measures announced by the government. He has asked the Review Court for the number of outstanding appeals against sentences imposed by the military courts. He has also asked for the number of communist convicts, those among them who have repented and the number of those sentenced to death (…). TSAROUCHIS: The artist and stage designer Yiannis Tsarouchis has returned from London. The distinguished artist is likely to design the set for A Midsummer Night’s Dream to be staged by the National Theater under the direction of Mr. Karolos Koun. Needless to say, other, less important issues that are not related to terrorism, such as the situation in the Balkan peninsula or the Cyprus problem, will not concern the top American officials and their handling will be undertaken by their staff members. Of course, it is not possible to force the USA to deal with other international issues, for the disaster they suffered was devastating and, in any case, the abilities of any American administration in emergency situations like the present one are not unlimited, as some critics of the USA or uncritical supporters tend to think…
