Monastery of Simonos Petra probed over bogus invoice

An investigation by SDOE, Greece?s financial crimes unit, has revealed that the Monastery of Simonos Petra on Mount Athos in northern Greece recently received a bogus invoice for 610,000 euros for purported construction services.

SDOE officials reportedly found that the data contained in the invoice belonged to an prison inmate.

The name of the inmate was not made public.
