Residents protest heating oil hike
Residents from the northern cities of Florina and Kastoria plan to protest the rising cost of heating oil in Athens on Wednesday by placing chunks of ice in front of Parliament.
Local officials are demanding that the cities be exempt from a recent government decision to level the tax for heating oil with that of diesel in a bid to beat tax evasion, a move which has resulted in fuel prices rising by up to 40 percent.
