Shipowner sentenced over nonpayment of social security

A first instance court in Piraeus on Tuesday handed a four-year jail sentence to shipowner Gerasimos Agoudimos due to the failure of his GA Ferries company to pay 970,000 euros in social security contributions to the seamen?s pension fund, NAT.

The fund claims Agoudimos owes NAT a total of 20 million euros.
